What this profile assumes
One healer's share of a Phase 1 raid fight, scaled up until the strongest raid-ready healer covers about 80 percent of what comes in and the weakest about 60: a tank taking big melee hits, raid-wide damage in regular pulses, and four more raid members to look after.
- Fight
- 5:00 long
- Tank
- 9,500 health, a 1,898 hit every 3.3 seconds
- A raid tank has about 9,500 health in Phase 1 gear with raid buffs. The hit is a stand-in sized by the retune rule, not a boss's: 1.65 times the 1,150 an Onyxia-class boss was first assumed to land on a mitigated tank, which is the smallest scale at which the five healers' raid-ready sets cover between about 60 and 85 percent of the incoming damage and bare sets less than half. With misses, dodges and parries averaged in one hit lands about every 3.3 seconds, about 575 damage a second; each hit rolls 25 percent either side.
- Raid members
- 5,000 health each
- A raid member that is not the tank has about 5,000 health: a plate or mail wearer sits above it and a cloth wearer below.
- Raid pulses
- 495 damage to 3 members every 5 seconds
- Raid-wide damage in regular pulses (a breath, a wing buffet, a periodic shadow bolt volley): every five seconds three of the four raid members take 495, about 297 damage a second spread over the group the healer stands in. Scaled by the same 1.65 as the tank hit, so the tank-to-raid ratio and the cadence are what they were.
A healing sim ranks gear under a stated incoming-damage profile. It never says one healer class beats another, and every healer number the site publishes names this profile. No client table states a creature's damage, so every figure below is a stated assumption, and this profile is a stand-in for Phase 1 that is NOT a named boss. It was first sized to an Onyxia-class boss, but at that size the raid-ready healers covered 80 to 97 percent of what came in, healing met the damage, and more healing power changed nothing, so gear tied. The retune rule (design/reviews/2026-10-08-heal-profile-retune.md) is: scale the tank hit size and the raid-wide pulse damage together, keeping their ratio and cadence, by the smallest multiplier at which the strongest raid-ready healer covers about 80 percent of the incoming damage, the weakest about 60, every bare set (no raid consumables) covers less than half, and mana is a live constraint (a bare set's mana runs out before the fight ends for every healer, and a raid set's for at least one). The multiplier chosen was 1.5 on 2026-10-08 and is 1.65 since 2026-11-01: client 1.60.1.70707 gave the Restoration druid Bloom and let heals over time crit (the client flags every trained heal over time PERIODIC_CAN_CRIT, and Blizzard's beta notes of 24 September say so for Rejuvenation), which took the druid to 91 percent at 1.5, and 1.65 is the smallest multiplier that brings every raid set back between about 60 and 85 percent (design/reviews/2026-11-01-sim-audit-round4/hybrids.md). The next retune (Phase 2 gear) follows the same rule. The figures are damage AFTER mitigation, because the fake raid has no armor or avoidance to roll. They are the share of the fight one healer is asked to cover, not the whole raid's incoming damage, and they stay the same for every spec and every gear set so the ranking compares gear and not fights.

Dark SacrificeRank 1Dark Sacrifice when the mana bar has room and you are not hurt.
Power Word: ShieldRank 3On a hurt tank whenever Weakened Soul is off him.
RenewRank 3Renew stays on the tank for the whole fight at a cheap rank: a cheaper rank returns more health per mana for the spell power it is cast with, and the dearer ranks cost the mana the fight runs out of.
Flash HealRank 1Flash Heal is the fast heal and the dear one: it is only for a tank that is genuinely low. Cast on the tank below 35%, then a party member below 30%.
HealRank 1Heal is the mana-efficient filler at rank 4: the same 0.857 spell power coefficient as Greater Heal for far less mana, so with healing power it returns more health per mana than any Greater Heal rank (the classic downrank). Behind the mana pace, the filler waits for a lower tank and member health, so the bar is spent on the holes that matter. Cast on the tank below 80%, then a party member below 65%, when your mana is at least 90% of the share of the fight left; or on the tank below 50%, then a party member below 35%.

Power Word: ShieldRank 6On a hurt tank whenever Weakened Soul is off him.
RenewRank 6Renew stays on the tank for the whole fight at a cheap rank: a cheaper rank returns more health per mana for the spell power it is cast with, and the dearer ranks cost the mana the fight runs out of.
Flash HealRank 4Flash Heal is the fast heal and the dear one: it is only for a tank that is genuinely low. Cast on the tank below 35%, then a party member below 30%.
Prayer of HealingRank 2Prayer of Healing on a party member once three of the four are under 85%.
HealRank 4Heal is the mana-efficient filler at rank 4: the same 0.857 spell power coefficient as Greater Heal for far less mana, so with healing power it returns more health per mana than any Greater Heal rank (the classic downrank). Behind the mana pace, the filler waits for a lower tank and member health, so the bar is spent on the holes that matter. Cast on the tank below 80%, then a party member below 65%, when your mana is at least 90% of the share of the fight left; or on the tank below 50%, then a party member below 35%.

Raid-ready, Phase 1: 14 buffs, 9 debuffs and 8 consumables.
Simulated against a level-63 target of no creature type over 180 seconds; slaying bonuses such as attack power against Undead count for nothing here.
What is included
Buffs Arcane Intellect, Mark of the Wild, Power Word: Fortitude, Divine Spirit, Blessing of Might, Blessing of Wisdom, Battle Shout, Trueshot Aura, Heart of the Lion, Leader of the Pack, Moonkin Aura, Strength of Earth Totem, Windfury Totem, Mana Spring Totem
Debuffs Curse of the Elements, Sunder Armor, Faerie Fire, Judgement of Wisdom, Judgement of the Crusader, Judgement of Light, Hunter's Mark, Improved Scorch, Curse of Recklessness
Consumables Flask of Distilled Wisdom, Greater Mageblood Elixir, Greater Cleric's Elixir, Elixir of Sages, Sage's Tea, Brilliant Mana Oil, Major Mana Potion, Demonic Rune
The same Phase 1 raid context for every spec: one group of each class brings its buffs and debuffs, each spec adds the consumables its role uses, no world buffs (Forever has none), the default 180 second encounter. Where a buff has a talented form, the plain version is used unless the live talent tree carries the talent and a raid would take it; none of the improved forms qualified. Blessing of Kings is left out. It is learnable (a trainer spell from level 20, SkillLineAbility 20217 and Greater Blessing of Kings 25898), but its +10% to every stat is the same aura and amount as Heart of the Lion's, which this preset already carries, and nothing in the client says whether the two stack (they share no SpellLabel or other exclusivity row); the engine also applies Kings to Alliance characters only, so the two factions would differ. If they do stack, carrying Kings measured about 4% more for Fury and Retribution and about 1.5% for Fire (level-60 raid band, 2026-10-31); a beta character sheet with both buffs settles it. Sanctity Aura is left out too: spell 20218 has no SkillLineAbility row in the Forever client, so no paladin can learn it. Windfury Totem is a raid-buff aura, as in the client (spells 8512 to 10614: an aura on every party member, not a weapon enchant), so it no longer competes with a weapon imbue: a rogue keeps both poisons and still receives it (the sim/leveling kit gives the rogue specs Deadly Poison in the main hand and Instant Poison in the off hand, the arrangement that measured stronger than two Instants or either Deadly alone in design/reviews/2026-10-07-rogue-parity.md), and a dual wielder carries a stone in each hand. Only a shaman whose main hand carries Windfury Weapon does not receive the totem. The engine applies Blessing of Might and Blessing of Wisdom to Alliance characters only, and Strength of Earth, Grace of Air and Mana Spring Totem to Horde characters only, so each faction's raid entry carries the half its side can use until the fork drops that gate. Nothing from Ahn'Qiraj or Naxxramas is used. The tanks (warrior-protection, paladin-protection, druid-feral-bear) share the tank consumable group, which adds armor, health, stamina and strength consumables in place of a damage dealer's; each carries its class's one potion (a rage potion, a mana potion, the bear's Stoneshield). They are ranked against the curated boss and healers of data/curated/tank-encounter.json, and carry no Blessing of Salvation, which a tank does not want. Grace of Air Totem is left out: it is an air totem, so a party's shaman drops either it or Windfury Totem (the beta notes say the two do not stack), and Windfury measured 4 to 24% ahead of Grace of Air for every melee spec that can receive it (design/reviews/2026-10-08-remaining-trainables.md). Winter's Chill is left out: since client 1.60.1.70532 it is no longer a Frost crit debuff; its stacks raise only the applying mage's own next Cone of Cold, so a raid frost mage's stacks give no one else anything, and in the engine they would have fed this mage's Cone of Cold for free.

RenewRank 10Renew stays on the tank for the whole fight at a cheap rank: a cheaper rank returns more health per mana for the spell power it is cast with, and the dearer ranks cost the mana the fight runs out of.
Flash HealRank 7Flash Heal is the fast heal and the dear one: it is only for a tank that is genuinely low. Cast on the tank below 35%, then a party member below 30%.
Prayer of HealingRank 5Prayer of Healing on a party member once three of the four are under 85%.

Dark SacrificeRank 2Dark Sacrifice when the mana bar has room and you are not hurt.
PenanceRank 1Penance on its 12 second cooldown: three pulses for the price of one cast and the best healing per mana the Discipline kit has. Cast on the tank below 95%, then a party member below 70%.
Prayer of HealingRank 1Prayer of Healing on a party member once three of the four are under 85%.

Dark SacrificeRank 4Dark Sacrifice when the mana bar has room and you are not hurt.
PenanceRank 3Penance on its 12 second cooldown: three pulses for the price of one cast and the best healing per mana the Discipline kit has. Cast on the tank below 95%, then a party member below 70%.
Power Word: ShieldRank 8On a hurt tank whenever Weakened Soul is off him.
RenewRank 8Renew stays on the tank for the whole fight at a cheap rank: a cheaper rank returns more health per mana for the spell power it is cast with, and the dearer ranks cost the mana the fight runs out of.
Flash HealRank 6Flash Heal is the fast heal and the dear one: it is only for a tank that is genuinely low. Cast on the tank below 35%, then a party member below 30%.
Prayer of HealingRank 3Prayer of Healing on a party member once three of the four are under 85%.

A healing sim ranks gear under a stated incoming-damage profile. It never says one healer class beats another, and every healer number the site publishes names this profile.

Dark SacrificeRank 5Dark Sacrifice when the mana bar has room and you are not hurt.
PenanceRank 4Penance on its 12 second cooldown: three pulses for the price of one cast and the best healing per mana the Discipline kit has. Cast on the tank below 95%, then a party member below 70%.
Power Word: ShieldRank 10On a hurt tank whenever Weakened Soul is off him.
